Lakeview

Lakeview is a large Chicago neighborhood that encompasses Wrigleyville, Boystown, The Southport Corridor, and Lake View East. Each one of those neighborhoods within a neighborhood has its own flavor, but make sure to read our other descriptions to see if it’s right for you! Lakeview is home to the Cubs in Wrigleyville. They did a massive renovation in 2019 that reshaped the neighborhood. On the west side of Lakeview, you have a strong mix of single-family homes, walk-up apartment buildings, and three flats. It’s adjacent to Lincoln Park and shares the same amenities given its close proximity. The Vic Theatre is famous for its “Brew & Views” of new and old flicks. Be warned the seats are uncomfortable, but it is a great atmosphere.

Awwww, can you not afford Lincoln Park? Poor baby! That’s okay, we’ve got a more accessible, schlubbier version that’ll suit you just fine. The rom-com best friend to Lincoln Park’s hot girl leading lady, Lakeview is home to one million restaurants, a few of which are actually almost decent. After enjoying a lackluster meal, pair it with a comedy show from any number of lower-tier theatres in the area, tickets are usually only $5 and the good news is that you are legally allowed to leave at any time during the “show”. But if you want an actual good time, skip all that and head on down to the world’s most magnificent Whole Foods on the corner of Belmont/Lincoln/Ashland. This two-story remarkable monstrosity is so big and beautiful that you’ll almost forget about paying $3 per avocado.
