It’s another beautiful Chicago day, we are in the Gold Coast, we are in one of the best parts of the Gold Coast. We’re on Ritchie Street, which most people think Astor is the last street. This is actually the street. Before you get to Lake Shore Drive, as you see here, you have this great park right over here. Then you have banks right there. So there’s only this half a block that the street exists. How nice would it be to live on just one street with one block?
The wind’s pretty crazy right now. One of the things I love about this location, I mean, what’s not to love? But you have the best convenience store in Chicago right there at thirteen, fifty, thirteen, sixty Lakeshore Drive. You see this copper top to what an elegant solution to a building. Let’s go see the rest. Come on.
So tell me this isn’t the coolest elevator you’ve ever seen. I’d love to know the history behind this. I’m going to find out for the listing. But right now, this is the prettiest, most elegant elevator I’ve seen in Chicago. And it’s just intimate enough. It’s not too tight. We’re not crowded in here. It’s really good space. Hallways were just redone. Great wallpaper, awesome carpet. I mean, look at this carpet. This is what you would see actually today if you were to pick this for your own house.
We’re at 4C at 1310 Ritchie, because this place, it’s so large, it’s so spacious, if you’re feeling cramped wherever you are now, come here. Now, this is a two bedroom, two bath, but that’s a den. So let’s just call this a three for all intents and purposes. But we’re not going to market it that way because it’s true to a great office space.
Some people give us feedback about this level being this low. The feedback is actually very positive because it’s terrestrial. People can see what’s going on in the street. They don’t feel like they’re looking down at bugs on the top floor. So if there’s a lake view, we’re always going to show it off. You get this between the two buildings right here.
Just imagine working, relaxing, setting up your bar cart, having the space all to yourself to get things done that you need to do. We have eight foot ceilings here, concrete between the levels and older Gold Coast buildings. So really good sound. You’re not going to hear your neighbors. You’re not going to be bothered by them. I just keep walking in this unit. I don’t even know where I’m going because that’s how much space there really is.
They have big pieces of furniture, too. This is a five person sectional, but it fits in here. Great. It could even be bigger. One chair over there. You could have two chairs easily TV positioned on the wall, everything cordless going down. Very smooth, very good. Look, I love that they have this over here. This is for all the things that you don’t know what to do with. Right. This could be your organization for papers, for knickknacks, whatever it is, plus you get this awesome space where they were doing a work from home and this stand up desk situation.
So just imagine yourself doing the same thing here. One of my favorite parts, because in the Gold Coast, it’s so hard to find his washer and dryer in the unit right here concealed inside your unit. You don’t have a room that’s being wasted. You have to give a bathroom to add this. It’s right here off the kitchen, stainless steel appliances throughout. I love how clean this kitchen looks. They did this glass backsplash, but it’s not glass tiles.
It’s glass panels that go all the way around.
And awesome, lazy. Susan, you could actually use these corners are wasted space all the time. And then you have a complementary one right here. Really nice. What I really like I really like the small two inch lights illuminating down here. They have track lighting right up here. They have a nice modern fixture, the fit above the dining room table illuminating this area, giving you a nice, intimate area to eat at night.
You’ll notice to the countertop. I don’t have a measuring tape to actually measure, but it seems a little thicker than usual. It could be wrong, but it’s it’s a little thicker, I think. And this gunmetal looks really good with all the white cabinets. And just look at all the cabinets. Here you have this was really well done. And that’s why my clients bought this. They wanted to live in the Gold Coast. They love this location, but they had a hard time finding an updated unit.
Well, they found this. It is beautiful. The hardwood floors are extra wide. Really good espresso stands. You’re not seeing any of the scratches or dents or things that can happen to the floor. They blend in. Well, one thing I really like about the unit, too, is a true foyer. So that’s the fancy word for foyer by the way you come in. No one can see what’s happening over there.
Over there. Your guests enter, you welcome them. You take their jackets, you put them away right here, and then they get the reveal of your unit and they just wonder, how far is this? Oh, what’s what’s right around the corner. I didn’t. Oh, in the bathroom. In the bathroom. Look at this time. I mean, modern, cool, hip. They tiled the whole wall. Do you notice this tiling all the way around this wall?
This wall? This isn’t cheap to do. And this is the type of thing you only see when someone’s customizing it for themselves typically. But that person had to sell this. My clients were fortunate enough to find this and now it can be yours. I love the fixtures they chose. I love how they have a shelf here for all the products. How nice is this is for all your things go so it’s not crowded below here. They have a two flush toilets, of course.
And so this is Axor Hansgrohe. I like this faucet. Just watch.
I know that seems very simple, but this is a high end piece that is hard to find. You’re not going to see something just like this. It’s clean, it blends in. There’s no handle protruding out of here. Plus, you have storage here, here, here. All of these open up. I’m not going to show because it was you living here, you would want to find that showing. The privacy.
So I won’t do it. Then you have the second bedroom right here, really good size. We’re talking about. Thirteen by 9’4″ here’s the thing to keep in mind, you might be looking at nine four and thinking that small this is really 13′ by 11’5″. OK, so they’re using up that space of the closet here. You have tons and tons of closet space to work with. Look at this. This could all be yours. Your boots could be here. Everything to be well, hung up, well-organized because that’s the dream.
Nice track lighting going all the way around here. Well, we illuminating the room. And this is where that lake used to look right here. This is the money shot. You wake up and see this every single day. Let’s put you have the master notice to get a real thermostat. It’s nice to have something you can actually use and control inside a Gold Coast building. So this get into this enormous, enormous. 16′ 11″, your average Chicago master is 12′ by 15′ in a high rise.
So there are more than enough space here. You’ll notice they have a very tasteful take, what they did a sheen and a non snon-sheen paint to give this really kind of like a wallpaper pattern for the entire unit without the difficulty of it, because in case you don’t like this, you can just paint right over, if this was wallpaper you’d be steaming and pulling and taking glue off. My favorite part of this closet where the Gold Coast.
But we have a real, true walking closet. Well organized. Well done. I mean, my closet at home doesn’t look like this. This is really, really sharp. I love that you have drawers. It’s sometimes hard to get drawers in the closet. This really has everything you need. And it’s open because you want the shelves to just grab and go for the everyday things that you use. Another thing, the French doors that are small like this is probably a 30-inch opening.
Yeah. Around there. Done, concealed, blocked off. Another favorite part about this unit. This is so hard to do and you typically only see it in new construction. We have a completely curbless shower, so I don’t just trip over a threshold here.
This area goes down and this is where all the water is going to shower niche right here for all your products in this shower is so big it’s like overpowering me. It’s clean, easy to tilt, easy to move around the control fron room, with a center drain.
How about right here? If you’re thinking of the water, it’s going to splash grow up. This is the cleanest design. You’re going to have a mat right down here and you just take every day, throw it into the laundry. I have this thing set up at home. It’s very nice, very clean, the same double flush, eco friendly toilet. You’ll notice here, too. They even have this device on the vents to close them and open them based on activity.
So you don’t have to turn the vent on when you get somewhere. When you’re doing your business here, you don’t need to do that. This motion sensor will automatically open it up saying, hey, you’re here, do what you need to do. I’ll take care of it. The vents going to take care of everything. Tons of storage behind here as well.
If you like this and you want to see it, I want to show it to you. So come see this unit in Chicago. I’m sure you’ll love it.
